General Information: Chamomile is any several distinct species in the sunflower family. The Chamomile flower is most often used like a bitter herb tea mixture. Those mixtures are calming the digestive tract, easing of the spasms of irritable bowel syndrome and nocturnal cramps. Chamomile tea is a relaxant and sedative and usually used against insomnia and anxiety. When used externally, chamomile tea is used to reduce skin irritations, as a chamomile has an antiseptic effect.
Chamomile in Armenia: In Armenia chamomile is widely spread all over the country. Although Armenia has a very small area, it has reach plant diversity. The chamomile has leading position in that diversification. You can easily find chamomile in almost all parts of Armenia. From the ancient times chamomile mixture was used by most people living in villages and cities as well. It has very good sanitary effect and most Armenians know about it. Chamomile is growing from the very beginning of summer till the early autumn, thus Armenians can harvest the product more than two times a year and have a large quantity of chamomile. Although health care is well developed during the years the usage of chamomile tea as an antiseptic is very popular in Armenia.
Making Chamomile Tea: Using the dried flowers and leaves, the basic "recipe" for chamomile is 1 rounded teaspoon of dried flowers boiled in water and strained for each cup of tea. Honey is a favorite sweetener, and it also tastes delightful with a squeeze of lemon or lime. (A sprinkle of cinnamon adds an interesting taste.)
Conclusion: Finally, one part of our growing business is to collect chamomile and sell finished tea to our consumers. The tea is presented in different size packages and with flavors. Although our product has been introduced to market recently, we have already gained high quantity of loyal customers.
